Black Gold
by Twi
(Aberystwyth)
Almost all the products we use have involved oil during manufacturing at one point or another.
Look at how many plastic items are currently around you. Where does the energy come from that powers your computer? Even a car, which consumes oil derived products for fuel, actually needs 20 barrels of oil to make all those plastic parts. Oil extraction is big business. We all know that. So there’s nothing new here. Those who control the oil, control the wealth and potential stability of the world.
The oil itself has formed over 400 million years – mostly from the prehistoric Carboniferous forests that covered the globe. The world of 400 Million BCE – where the atmosphere topped 40% Oxygen, and where insects and arachnids were over a meter in length. Lightning storms in Carboniferous world resulted in huge bush fires – fuelled by the large percentage of Oxygen in the air. It was a beautiful, yet dangerous place to live.
Like all great Eras of Prehistory, the great Carboniferous Rainforests met their end. Some trees rotted into the soil, becoming first coal, and then later great lakes of oil deep underground as the bacteria got to work. Thanks to these giant insects, and thousands of square miles of forests, that viscous black liquid they’ve been turned into has become the very fabric of global society. Humanity can’t possibly imagine the world without it. What would we do? Where would all the plastic come from for all our prepackaged frozen GM-ready mind-numbing junk food for starters.
With so much of that black liquid being extracted, one does have to ask the simple, but rather logical question, is there actually enough? At some point we’re bound to run out. What then and when?
The answer is always going to hard to calculate. Ask the question in public, and you’ll have self proclaimed ‘experts’ conjuring all sorts of dates and numbers. ‘Based on current global consumption, world oil reserves will be in sharp decline by… ‘ tends to be the standard line. With the date ranging from 2020 – 2040. Others, of course, will give different dates (though using the same data).
Surely though, you’d think at least some of these ‘experts’ would question what would happen if demand was to increase? You might even be bold to suggest asking where that data came from. It’s easy to see how many barrels of oil are sold in a single day – but what about the oil left beneath the ground. How do they know how much is actually left?
A bit of research into how oil is found will no doubt lead you to descriptions of satellite thermal imaging of oil fields. The imaging gives an indication of the size of the oil reservoir beneath the drilling platform or oil field. It is with these images that certain ‘experts’ are able to calculate how much is left. The ones doing the calculation are, of course, working for their respective oil companies. The companies want to be told there’s lots of oil down there. Or at least, that’s what they’ll say to the rest of the world…
The entire global economy is based on oil. So long as supply and demand are met, everything works according to plan. The problem arises, of course, when the gap between supply and demand narrows or (worse) the demand grows to outstrip supply.
When demand is greater than supply, the price of the commodity (in this case oil) increases. It’s not rocket science here – just common economic sense. With a world economy so dependent on the flow of oil, it’s easy to see that the economy itself is going to be extremely sensitive to the supply. The result is massive increases in the price of oil, and hence fuel, followed by a global recession/depression.
Ah, wait a minute. Are we not supposed to be in a recession right now? At least that’s what those blue-suits and their lackeys will tell you, whilst wining and dining in 5 star restaurants on tax payer’s expense.
To compensate, the world’s fifth largest oil exporter, Saudi Arabia, has increased oil exports. In public they say this is to match the shortfall from the loss of supply from Libya. In public the Saudis are saying they have more than enough oil, and more reserves are being found all the time.
Breath everyone. We’re all safe. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has an infinite supply and enough oil for all. The Al-Saud family has saved us once again!
So, how come then, over the last ten years Saudi Arabia has been buying up more ‘deep extraction’ equipment? Perhaps someone can also explain to me why thermal imaging of the Ghawar Oil Field has shown a vastly depleted reserve.
Deep extraction is a costly process, generally only employed when you need to get that last bit out of the well. It’s like drinking a pint of beer. Go on drinking it and eventually the glass will run out. At the end, you might suck that last foamy drop from the bottom. Hard work isn’t it – especially when you’ve just learnt the barrel is empty and the pub’s sold out. Deep extraction is like pulling that last drop from the glass.
A bit of research into the question of Saudi oil reserves will bring up a wealth of articles. Here’s an example of such an article.
GO TO - Arabia is running out of oil
The bottom line is, Saudi Arabia’s oil is going to run out sooner than many expect. What is Saudi Arabia going to do? Currently, the Al-Saud family have been bribing the population to prevent a major uprising. Tempers are growing short there. It’s only a matter of time. Until recently, Saudi Arabia has generally kept to itself. So long as the oil flows, the world (and in particular the US) have left this kingdom alone. This is despite possessing some of the worst human rights in the world – all a product of the un-Islamic laws passed by the Al-Saud family. You’d think that a nation which houses the two most sacred sites of Islam (Mecca and Medina) would show a little respect for the religion. Pity then that this is not a world of logic. Insanity and inherent lunacy are commonplace in aristocracies – and the Saudi royals are no exception.
In the last six months, we have seen Saudi Arabian tanks enter the streets of Bahrain in what was a blatant invasion. In all the while, the US fifth fleet, which is based on the tiny island, did nothing to assist the people of Bahrain in their fight for freedom. Call my cynical here, but what would have been the response had it been Iranian tanks rolling through the streets in support of the uprising? A little while later, Libya and then Syria blew their tops. Whilst the Libyan regime was quickly pounded by NATO aircraft in an invasion cunningly disguised as a ‘no fly zone’, Al-Assad’s regime in Syria continue slaughtering hundreds, and displacing entire urban populations – pushing them north into Turkey. The UN passed sanctions of course, drawing up a list of Syrian heads of state whose assets were to be frozen. The list, for some curious reason, did not include Assad himself. Questions were raised, but no one appeared to be available for comment. Very strange. It’s almost like Assad was secretly being propped up by the US.
With the threat of Saudi running out of oil, the US had to get another supply. Gadaffi had outlived his usefulness. Libya had oil, and Gadaffi had amassed a personal wealth of 330 billion. An oil field and 330billion in cash – the temptation must have been too much for those Blue-suits. His wealth was subsequently seized and the country invaded as they took the bait. 330 billion, now that’s a lot of money. That’d help build a few more schools and hospitals. Perhaps it could even be distributed amongst the Libyan people. Ah no, wait a minute, that money has been seized by the FED. Fat chance of it going to where it should.
As events in Syria were beginning to unfold and demonstrators were taking to the streets. There were whispers, rumours, and strange stories from ‘locals’ who spoke about arms being shipped in from across the border with Jordan. It got absolutely no attention from media (even Al-Jazeera missed the significance of that one). Suddenly, the demonstrators had become ‘armed rebels’ and the entire Syrian population was arming itself to the teeth. An entirely armed population? That was a bit of an exaggeration. Visitors in Syria, and those who live there, will tell you not everyone carries a gun. I will say this though, that indeed there are rebel forces that have taken up arms. Where they received these arms from is perhaps a darker story, which I will leave for another article. I do urge though to look at a map, and see what country marks Jordan’s southern border. The Al-Saud family are rapidly showing their declining usefulness to the CIA and NWO cause. With their oil running out, they need to prove themselves by other means. What better way than to serve US and Israeli interests in destabilising Syria. What a great CIA dream to be realised – a Syria-Jordan-Israel-Saudi Alliance against Iran. Pity for them it’s not going all according to plan. As Saudi Arabia runs out of oil, so too will it’s wealth. When that happens, there’ll be no more bribes for a frustrated population and Saudi too will blow. And when the people attain their freedom who are they going to thank, and who, perhaps, do you think they’ll blame for supporting their oppressors for so long.
