Cyclone Yasi

Hello Everyone,

Our country Oz, is on tenterhooks yet again. This time it's Cyclone Yasi.

First it was the floods in Queensland - the size of France and Germany combined. Following soon after, Brisbane flooded, aided by letting off water from the Wivenhoe Dam. I didn't think anything could get worse than that.

If that wasn't enough tragedy, loss of lives and homes, now there is this Mother of a cyclone about to hit the same flood ravaged areas. It's the biggest cyclone in our country's history.

Cyclone Yasi.

Honestly, this is just not fair. But who said nature is fair. It just is.

I hasten to add, I am safe where I am (in northern NSW, and so far all of my friends in Queensland are safe - they are not in the eye of the storm, although they have several family members who are in the eye of the storm.) Please send them your good wishes/prayers/vibes to get them through this.

As I write, the cyclone will hit full tilt 11pm tonight and continue for 24 hours I believe. At the moment it's 10.50pm, Oz time.

If you have pyramids, please use them full tilt, because tonight this cyclone is going to dwarf even the floods. This is full on bad news folks. If you don't have pyramids, prayers, meditation or just plain good thoughts will all help.

As I write, I also know there are predicted bad storms/blizzards for the USA. My thoughts are very much with you too as we go through these events together. We are not alone.

Aussie Cyclones

Sorroco,

At the moment, the cyclones (2 of them) are hitting the north west of the country. I don't know if there is anyone frequenting this board who harks from there, but from the perspective or all us east coasters, that's like a hurricane hitting Florida when we are in someplace in Oregon. Not that we don't have weather to contend with but it's much more sedate at the moment.

Thanks for the thoughts. I'm sure that there will be plenty more opportunities to cash in on those kind thoughts in the near future! :)

Interesting, Lily. Presumably you posted this at the height of the storm so to speak, but that was now a week ago. I don't remember seeing it in the list, so I wonder whether there has been some sort of delay generally in postings - there has been nothing for days and now suddenly a flood (pun NOT intended!! :) )

But you are correct, noone that I know has suffered from this cyclone, huge as it was. For those who may not know, a cyclone is the generic term for all severe "cyclonic" ocean storms, like hurricanes, typhoons, etc. We in Aussieland are just too laid back to invent our own name for it! :)

But what is behind all this? Is it HAARP, the LHC, or just the current move towards massive climate change? Whatever is causing it, it's not good.

Hi Lily,
Many prayers will be with you, your family and friends to be safe during the storms. I also pray that the storm itself will show some mercy.

You probably won't be able to get online during such disturbances, but know that many people are keeping you in their thoughts.

Sorry but the cyclone passed a week ago..

Hello Everyone,

I don't know why my post has just turned up now. I wrote and posted it the night before the cyclone was about to hit us.

Cyclone Yasi passed over a week ago. A lot of damage, but minimal loss of life. Seven babies were born I believe, during the cyclone.

There was a lot of preparation and evacuations before the cyclone, which I believe led to the low level of deaths.

Two people died I think - that is tragic enough. Does one say that it's ok because only a couple of people died? They had family. It doesn't matter if one person died or 1,000. It affects someone profoundly, everywhere, whatever the number.

Needless to say there has been untold damage done from the cyclone, together with the floods, which are happening everywhere, in all states. Don't even talk about the bush-fires.

It's a bloody nightmare here, but there's not much media covering it.

It's posted here now, well after a week, after the event. What's going on? Is it my computer, Levi's computer, the Oz firewall?

This is crazy.
