Dreaming Awake

by Brian
(NY, USA)

Most people that frequent Levi's site have read things in reference to dreams being so vivid that you can't distinguish if it was real or just a dream. What I would like to know is, if anyone has experienced a sense of dreaming while being awake ie at work, school etc.

I work in roof construction in the U.S.A and I find myself working on top of a roof experiencing a weird Deja vu or actual dreaming.

I have to say it completely freaks me out.
When I was a kid and would get a fever or flu, I would get these dreams where everything was large. Big chairs, sofa, doors etc. and it was only when I was sick with a fever. Recently I will be wide awake and get a flash of these "big" dreams or dreams that I know I have already dreamt about. The big dream scares me because I start thinking maybe im ill or something but then what explains the other dream like experiences when awake.

I know this sounds strange but if anyone can comment or has experienced something like this please comment.

Was waiting to see if anyone else was going to post before I did, so here it goes. I could probably write a book here, but I'm gonna keep it short and simple.

Stop fearing for one. David Wilcock once said you are the only player in your dreams. Your dreams could be a way of helping you face your fears without incurring any physical injury depending on the subject at hand. There are probably infinite reasons for the dreams one might have but that's just one.

Others can help interpret your dreams, but I think truly that's only something you can do yourself, cause you know yourself better than anyone.

Start keeping a dream journal, write down as much details as you can right when you wake up. For the awake and deja vu thing, maybe you can do the same. It may not make sense to you now but it might later and then you have a reference.

During my research of dreams way back when...scientists awoke people as they started to enter REM (deep sleep dream state) to ask them if they were dreaming. After continuing this excercise and not letting the subjects dream..they went crazy. What kind of crazy I don't remember, but possibly Schizo. A theory could be that they weren't crazy but their dreams carried over into their awake state and weren't crazy at all, just a theory.

So you might want to make sure you get some rest :) Don't be afraid. It would help to know when your dreaming too so you can try to take control of the dream rather than be victim to it. I know that's difficult but all you can do is try.

More of my 2 Cents.

Dreams
by: Eileen

I was about to post a blog on my current dreams. Levi told me to pay attention to them when we did my Tarot reading, and I've had very strange and wierd dreams lately, perhaps for another time.

However, your comments about your childhood and dreaming of large objects was so appropo to my childhood dreams I had to comment. I had a pretty scary, challenging childhood because of my dad's alcoholism and the fact he drank all the money he earned (when he was working that is)leaving us short of money to buy food, plus his behaviour caused terrific fights and strife as there were six children(I'm the youngest)and my mother worked three menial jobs daily just to put food on the table and buy us clothes for school. In addition, I was a preemie baby, born at home,my mother had a near death experience giving birth to me and I almost died - cord tied three times around my neck. In any event, I was always very small for my age and underweight, now 4'10" and weigh 100lbs. I was constantly picked on at school, and had nicknames: weeone, tiny, titch etc.

I went through a period between 6-8years of age, where I dreamed constantly that I was being pursued by large pillars, walls, and other huge edifices that were bearing down on me and suffocating me. As a child I was followed up the stairs by a man, who made lewd and sexual advances to me, I had the sense to run away. I then began dreaming that the man had me in his arms and was walking away from me and I was trying to scream to my mother (who was waving goodbye to me) but nothing came out of my mouth.

I often awoke from these nightmares screaming and
my mother (whom I slept with) would have to calm me down. I remember as a child that I was always afraid to go to bed and go to sleep, because of this. I think this is why I have always suffered from insomnia and have a hard time going to sleep at night.

I can rationalize my nightmares today, by saying it must have been repressed fears and trauma from my childhood experiences, but then having recognized this (and having gone to numerous conciousness raising groups etc in the 60's)why do I still have the problem of insomnia?

Sorry -- TOO MUCH INFORMATION? But thanks for letting me "analyze" my childhood once more on the blog.
