Fructose: the poison

by Madge
(Sydney OZ)

Just watched this 9 part series on the dangers of high fructose foods mainly from high fructose corn syrup. How it is this and not fat that is making us fat and sick. Highly recommend that you watch it. Puts Coke etc in perspective.
As an extra I am not sure if bottled water is a problem but the plastic it is bottled in deteriorate and becomes one.

Breakfast hunger!!
by: Lloyd

Yes, Ste! My experience exactly! I have always found the earlier I eat in the day, the more often I get hungry though the day and the bigger the meals I eat! So I tend to do things like staving off "breakfast" until lunch, then eating lightly, which in turn means my dinner (supper, tea) is smaller. If I succumb to the temptation to eat earlier or bigger, that's the pattern for the rest of the day and I end up feeling stuffed.

Definitely eating when I'm hungry and then just enough to take the edge off is the way to go.

Web Guy:

When he was my age 250 years ago, Levi picked up a good term when he lived in Amsterdam. Grazing He still does it today that's why he never seems to weight on and he's given the habit to my dad.

Grazing is when you nibble things thru the day without sitting down to a full meal. He sometimes goes without food for a day or two and drinks water instead. Weird eh!

But I remember when got back from Florida a few years back and told me that MC Donalds was full at 6am in the morning. I asked full of fat people? and he said yes. So it must be true. Eating breakfast every single day is a sure way to put on weight.

Breakfast make me hungry quicker
by: Ste

I've always found that if I have breakfast (normally about 7ish) I'm always hungry by 10. without breakfast I'm hungry by 12 normally but sometimes later.

I think eating more often does increase your metabolism but at the same time it means you body has to spend more time digesting and sorting out the foods (and poisons) you eat. If you only eat when your hungry you will always be a good weight and it gives your digestion system and liver more chance to recover from the poisons you ingest and cost you less in food.

To me only one option makes sense.

No, to Breakast!
by: Lily

Just jumping on the bandwagon here,

I've always had an argument with people about eating breakfast. I don't like breakfast! I am not hungry then, so I will not eat it. I like a coffee though.

Likewise Lunch, maybe just a cracker or some nuts. Turns out that all my family now admits they only eat a main meal at night.

Don't bloody eat if you're not hungry! Plain common sense. If you're hungry, eat, if you are not hungry, don't eat. All of my family are slim. And when we eat, we EAT, be sure to make sure no arms or legs are in the way or they will be swallowed whole, we have no problem with appetite, we just eat when we are hungry...

And don't get me started on diet foods, give me full cream milk and butter. Keep active and don't eat when you're not hungry. Simple.

Cheese! (Camembert, FULL FAT preferably)

Hobby horse...
by: Lloyd

Now I'm on it, I can't seem to stop... :)

Something that really bothers me about sheeple. They are full of MSM-inspired advice. I just love it when some know-it-all MSM parrot tells me the error of my ways with regard to my diet.

The most recent was when I was told "You have to eat breakfast, it's the MOST IMPORTANT MEAL of the day!" - this because I had the temerity to state that I eat when I'm hungry, not at fixed specified times, which generally means I don't eat breakfast but have an early lunch. She went on to tell me the usual wisdom of the food pyramid which says that meats and fats should be avoided.

I didn't try to explain how wrong this all was because I would have been arguing against the conventional wisdom of the MSM which clearly could not be wrong...

Oh, dear, sheeple are really their own worst enemies!

Web Guy:

Agreed. Breakfast most important meal of the day is a myth. So is the habit that we should eat 3 times a day or 4 if you do supper. If you eat supper you will put weight on quicker because your body can't digest fast enough when sleeping. Your body can't burn of the cals.

I got the habit off my dad and Levi...
Eat when youre hungry. Your body clock will tell you when youre hungry.
Keeps you slim, healthy and in shape as well.

soda belly
by: Madge from NSW OZ

When I watched the series I really wanted the title "Soda Belly" to be a familiar part of our language as "beer belly". It may have more of a punch if the obvious, such as the dangers of soft drinks and sugars, are pointed out to the fray.
I am a delighted mother as I heard my 20 yr old turn down Maccas for the first time this week! He is actually thinking about what is going into his stomach at last.

On the subject of children- the extract of the sugar stories where it stated that the baby formula [at least in the USA} was full of fructose that was leading to obesty in 6 mths olds is a tragedy to me. And it feeds back to the politicians ...

Web Guy:

Makes kids hyperactive and troublesome as well.
Most kids breakfast cereals are loaded with salt and sugar. Soda are loaded with all kinds off bad things.

Do the penny trick with coca cola to scare them off it. Just drop a dirty penny into some coke and when it turns shiny new, tell them it's the acid and that's what it's doing to their stomach lining. (That's how my mother weaned me off it )

fat-tastic
by: Andrew

HaHa!! Yes...

I once worked with a guy that was so keen to leave all fats out of his diet, so scared he would get fat and have a heart attack by the age of 30.

I couldn't tell him that eating a load of carbs will make you fat, I knew he wouldnt listen as sheeple seem to only listen to what the MSM will tell them. Yes he kept getting fatter and blaming it on the miniscule amount of fat in his diet. Go figure.

Things like this leave an enquiring mind to study things further and not listen to the crap the MSM feed us.

When will people wake up??

Fat is Good for you
by: Eileen

Hey Lloyd -- good piece. I have an internet medical letter by an alternate healthcare Dr, who absolutely destroys all the health information coming from the medical profession.

He recently had an article on fats and how our body needs it to survive; weather conditions, heart attacks, obesity, etc. He specifically said to avoid certain cooking oils due to their artificial manufactured content, and stick with good old lard.

I grew up in Scotland in the 1940's and remember my mother frying bread in the pan for us for our dinner, with big chunks of yellow looking lard (it wasn't white then as it is today).

The Scots have always loved their greasy fried food, but of course now they are cooking it in all these new and exotic oils; peanut, corn, etc., and people are getting fatter and fatter. I remarked on that when I was home.

The Scots have always been a small, muscular race -- we needed lots of fat to keep out the cold. We also had to walk everywhere, because no-one could afford a car. Now of course the whole of the UK is just one big binge drinking hell-hole, so all those calories in the beer and booze, coupled with the fried food and lack of exercise is playing havoc with the diet.

Web Guy:

Glasgow Scotland is famous for Deep Fried Mars Bars too.

We still get fried bread in any breakfast cafe. That's goes for most of Britain.
Yummy.

Fats and carbos
by: Lloyd

Interesting concept that. I can't tell you how amazing it was when I first put the picture together to realise that the problems with fat have nothing to do with fat at all, but with sugars, or more broadly, any carbohydrates, sugars, starches, etc.

Fat is an absolute necessity for life. You have to eat it. Millions of people conditioned (by the MSM!) to believe that fat is bad for you and that you should eat lots of carbs would be shocked or even offended by that statement, but it's true. There is fat in virtually everything we eat, and if we eat carbs with it, your body metabolises it completely differently, burning the carbs and laying down the fat. But eat fat and protein together, and the body burns the fat and lays down muscle!

Where in the MSM do you hear this? Nowhere! But the real question is why? Is it deliberate that the MSM is conditioning the vast majority of people (sheeple) on the planet to become obese? I think it just might. If most of the western world sheeple are obese and all of the rest are malnourished and sickly, it should be pretty easy to do away with them, yes?

Most of my food stores are high protein, high fat canned foods. I'm not bothering much with carbs. I will be putting away some rice and pasta at some point, but they are definitely not my focus.
