GOLD v US DOLLAR

Holy sh** dudes have you all seen gold rallying like crazy the past couple of days?

It's now at 1360 dollars and rising still ...

Goold ol' Levi was right again!

THE QUESTION: how high could it still go?

(too bad for us in Europe that the dollar is losing value so we really don't see a rally in Euroland concerning gold ... YET!)

Gold has broke Levi's prediction of $1200. He now reckons $1500 soon and $2000 plus next year possibly $3000 dollars an ounce as the US Dollar crashes. His predictions for 2011 are very interesting but are chilling as well.

Keep some cash on hand....

Hi Danie,

Forgot to mention, take your cash out of the bank and keep it secretly and securely stashed.

If the switches are flicked,(Internet/banks/ATM's, whatever,) at least you can buy food with cash if the ATM's aren't working.

Sincerely hoping it doesn't work out like this. But better to be safe than sorry.

There is nothing to lose in being prepared.

Aha! But how much is your cash actually worth if there is a crash.

Levi mentioned in a past slog blog for instance that for every $600 US Dollars you would only get $100 dollars in real time.

That is the idea of crashing the system in the first place.

Gold, Silver or especially FOOD if you cant afford the other two is the way to go if you want to ride out the storm.

You can trade food like rice for gold and silver or anything else you need.

(None Perishable of course)

Keep calm...

First of all, remember, one can live without food for a while, but you can't live without water. Stock up on water. Get a water purification kit, there are some economical ones around -
Berkey water filters if you are in the USA.

Keep stocking up with non perishable items, but do it now. Sell stuff if you have to, have a garage sale.

Most important: Buy non-hybrid seeds to plant vegetables. Learn how to save the seeds. Buy as much seed as you can. You can always barter the seeds.

Keep the seeds dry in bottles with tight fitting lids with some rice to keep them dry. And/or in zip/lock bags.

Get friendly with your neighbours; you plant tomatoes, others plant lettuce, others plant potatoes etc, and then you can swap.

Stock up on:

cans of food, rice, pasta
matches, Barbeque fuel, newspaper
water
candles
first aid kit
lots of date rolls (lol...toilet paper)
dried fruit
moist wipes
buckets
plastic bags
torches, old fashioned radios
batteries for the radio
petrol (stored very carefully)
washing detergent
feminine hygiene items

I could go on and on.... Just think of what you would need should the supermarket shelves go empty and there is no electricity or water.

Spend half an hour with pad and pen to write down what you would need.

There are also plenty of lists here on this forum of what you would need.

Once the crap has cleared it will all be different, we just have to get through a bit of difficult stuff.

If you don't have much money to prepare, that's OK, just do what you can. Do anything/something with what you've got.

I don't have much, only enough for about 2 months if the switches are flicked.

Just get prepared, and if it all comes to nought, you can still use it all anyway.

Try not to sell your gold or silver. Keep it safely stored.

Try to sell anything you don't need, or barter it for cash to buy essential items.

Have a garage sale - you would be surprised at what stuff you don't need which could help someone else.

Don't know which way to go!??

Bought a little gold and silver,but not much.Haven't stocked any food,started to, but found myself falling on bad times,so had to actually start using it.

Been a fan of Levi's for a few years... the man is definitely on point!!! Any ideas on which way to go???

Corn the new Gold?

I wrote on the Climate Change blog about the US government vis-a-vis ethanol and corn. Levi has been predicted the food shortages, and I've been following the markets. Wheat, Corn, Rice, agriculture products soared on Friday, 8th. This from a financial letter I follow:-

"Corn, for example, is up more than 40% since June as global stock levels, with a "stock to usage ratio" of a paltry 12%, dipped to their lowest levels in almost four decades. Unfavorable weather patterns in the US kicked the rally off, but it was the revelation that China, feeding the fastest growing middle class on the planet, imported a record 432,000 tonnes in August that really kicked it into overdrive. This trend is all the more alarming, at least from a geopolitical perspective, when one considers that the US diverts a little over one third of its entire crop production to ethanol for fuel, a boondoggle that led one wry co mmentator to declare the program a blatant act of "unsustainable, government-sponsored food burning." Rice is the new Silver, and Corn is the new Gold".

There's isn't anything I could add to the above. We all know what is going down. I had a huge battle with hubby, who doesn't believe the bottom is going to fall out of the US. He said: I kneejerk and over-react and he "measures things before making decisions". He was so bloody condescending - this from the same guy who wouldn't admit our financial advisor was a complete and utter incompetent AH!!!, until I literally took matters into my own hands. Unfortunately, way to late to protect our lifesavings. I could write more, but am so depressed and angry at people who go through life with blinkers on. Oh and remember his complaints about all the food I was stocking up on -- FU...said I.

Seriously I heard Levi talking about this a few weeks back. I think the Chinese for one cant get enough of it and its on the move. Trouble is you would need bags of storage room unless you gamble on stock market which can crash ant time now.

I still thing non perishable foods are best bet then trade with those who have gold. You cant eat Gold and if Levi is right with his food shortage prediction....

Lucky Country?

Hi all,

I've often wondered if Aussies are told this (Lucky Country) to keep them happy. Although I have to agree with Lily this is definitely one of the better places to be in the world if things are going bad. I do have to wonder how it can be that we are suffering so little as a result of the world's financial turmoil. Sure there are firms closing down and people unemployed but as far as I can see it's nothing like what's happening in the US and other places.

Gold is a safe haven. It's the only safe haven left. It used to be that people found a safe haven in the USD but those days are long gone. And yes, there are starting to be shortages of both gold and especially silver. Everyone is now trying to squirrel away some gold to be sure they still have something left when all other currency is worthless. I don't know about the AUD, though - doesn't seem to be getting worthless anywhere near as fast as all the others.

Silver is going to be a real eye-opener. There's so little of it - 9 times rarer than gold now, apparently and 40 times more expensive to mine than gold. That's not the sort of thing you expect for a precious metal that's selling at $20, no, $21, wait $22, oh hell, it looks like people might discover it's rarer than gold after all!! When the bullion joints are running out of it and have to go to their reserve supplies of old knocked-about dodgy-looking kg bars of silver that look like they're out of the Ark, that sure tells me something.

We're definitely nearing the end of something, folks, and presumably the start of something else. Hold onto your hats. I just wish the PTB hadn't decided they want Aussieland as their new home base. Sort of sullies up the whole countryside, doesn't it Lily?

Yeah, well, the PTB's/reps can count me out, I'm too old for their young, white flesh, plus I smoke and it's well known the reps/grays don't like to eat humans who smoke....lol...best ever excuse I've found for not giving up!

I'll leave a sign on my front door when they arrive and they'll leave me alone. I'll even leave an ashtray at the front door for them - better than garlic around the neck!

Well, I'm glad Levi found another place, sure is a close shave, otherwise I'd have to marry him!

I can well imagine people are upping sticks for Oz and NZ. It's paradise here (well, at least if you know some places to avoid).

It has always been the 'lucky country', but why and for how long?

Yes, I'd forgotten about Schiff wanting to get into politics. And yes, you make good sense about his $10,000 prediction!

What I don't get, is why the Oz dollar is almost at parity with the US$ and our unemployment rate is the lowest it's been for some time - I think in the last quarter 50,000 unemployed found full-time jobs. Sydney house prices are through the roof - there was a quip in the paper today, that you know you live in Sydney if you earn $100,000 a year and can't afford to buy a house.

And everyone is quite chipper! (She'll be right mate!).

As I've speculated before, are they preparing OZ to launch the NWO, with us as the serfs?

It all feels quite eerie compared to what's going on elsewhere.

Calm before the storm me-thinks before all hell breaks loose. Fire up the popcorn* and pull up a chair...this is going to get interesting...

Levi's $2000 to $5ooo cap is way out there but much more realistic than Pete's $10 grand unless he's going by what the dollar will devalue to by them from am American point of view.

The rest of the world it will only be half of $10K US Dollars.

Besides that. why would a money man suddenly want to become a politician?

Those who worship the Money God as Levi calls them have got us in this mess in the first place haven't they.

Time for spiritual people with savvy like you and Levi's buddies to take over don't you think Lily?

Then we could really put the world to rights.
