Local councilors hold a meeting telling public sector workers that they are going to have to make up to 40% cuts in their budgets and accept a 2 year pay frieze.

The very next day same councilors award themselves a 100% pay rise taking their salaries to 54,000 thousand pounds a year. To those of you who are reading this from outside of the UK 54,000 thousand pounds is a huge salary by most peoples standards.

Council leader Lynne Hillan states " It makes good sense to me"

Same said person who pulled to pieces care for the elderly in Barnet but moved her own mother to another nursing home so that she would not be affected by the savage cuts that she herself had implemented.

Councilor Brian Coleman " I will take the money I'm entitled to"

Brian Coleman receives a total of £54,000 from Barnet.

Out of the 38 Tories able to vote on this pay increase one abstained.

He also receives £53,439 from the GLA

His SRA from LFEPA is £26,883.10

Throw in a few free dinners courtesy of the GLA

Now this is where democracy gets interesting (yeah that same democracy that we inflict on the world through force and terror).

Tory Councilor Kate Salinger abstained from voting on the basis that we the voters have no jobs and have no money.

She was warned against abstaining from the vote. As a result of abstaining she has been stripped of her role as chairman of the children's services overview and scrutiny subcommittee and the appeals committee, her position as vice chairman on the Chipping Barnet residents forum and the licensing committee, and her membership on the corporate parenting advisory panel and the policy and performance overview and scrutiny committee.

Just as it is in America are jobs have been out sourced to foreign countries. Our best preforming companies are being sold off to the highest international bidders and the jobs are going with them.

Here in London there are no jobs. I speak with people daily who have been looking for work for months at a time. The very few jobs that there are are MINIMUM WAGE and PART TIME. They come no where near covering the basic cost of living.

But the pigs at the trough can afford to laugh in our faces. What what austerity measures my old chum - no no that's just for the proles.
