Well I have a bank appt. this a.m. to do 'something' about the little bit of money I have left since my husband died a few months back.

I'm not sure how it is going to go, it's like I need an 'advocate' with me to bolster my confidence, lol. The little bit of money I have is really for my 25 year old daughter, who just received a scholarship to get her ungrad and I am very concerned about her having school loan debt when she is just starting out. I can survive on my small survivor pension which just covers the rent and the internet bill. I'm taking the small investment (which has lost 300 this month) and putting in a credit union tax free savings account. $300 may not seem a lot, but it is a large loss for me.

At 60 I still don't have a credit card, but that's okay I guess. What are others doing?

Good Lord, reading the comments from the 'Job Creator Class' @ Ticker forums this morning. They pretty much all expect WAR in early 2012, the only question is where will it start: Europe or the ME.

These are the business owners and they are talking about taking enough cash out of their accounts to last 6 months of expenditures and taking their retirement money out, but to be placed where, they don't say.

Time Speeding Up

Indeed. I have actually had that 'sensation', 'feeling' on/off over many many years, so I'm kind of used to it.

Yes things are happening fast now. Just to let you know, I got my Certified Cheque and it itself is timeless, ha-ha. I can sit on it or I can choose to gift it to adult daughter. It felt great to get it, to look at it, to know it's real. The funniest thing happened with the bank teller. She was infinitely bored with her job, prolly has been for years, at least that was what I was picking up from her. After she handed it to me she said 'Feel better now? Are you off to a credit union, are you part of the Occupied's Move Your Money Day?' I replied 'not consciously, but I am really happy it coincides with it' and then I beamed her a smile.

I'm not sure if anyone is interested, but one of the places I've always wanted to visit is the Tennessee Elephant Sanctuary where Bella (a dog) and Tarra (an elephant) were best friends. I just heard Bella has died, it is believed she was attacked by coyotes and Tarra found her, carried her back to the barn. There is a tribute page for Bella if you want to see her noble face.

The blinds are coming off....

Things are moving very fast. Right now, that Greek referendum looks like it won't happen. It is all an immense pile of brown stuff just looking for a fan to get acquainted with. The Greek government itself could collapse and then the haggis will be in the fire for sure.

I hope you will make out ok over there, TikTok....let's hope we've all done enough to give ourselves some protection; and there's still time to do more.

The blinds are really coming off now; I have been frequenting a number of UK newspaper and political forums since late 2008 and I can tell you, the awakening is really rolling. A few years back, people posting messages in them were still dreaming of just a brief interlude of turmoil, after Lehman Bros., and then expecting the economy to pick up and carry on as before.
They obviously weren't reading Levi's site.

More worrying is the mindset of those who don't read forums.....the main sheeple....as Levi said, it's too late for them. Every man/woman for himself now. Have you noticed time is moving really fast again? I don't know where the last few months have gone; that black hole is getting nearer....

I thought Levi was losing it when he said time is speeding up. Now its Friday already and I dont know where the week went. I've been noticing this weird thing for a few months now. Time seems to speed up for weeks then slows down again but weeks still get shorter even when it slows down to what they used to be. Brrrrrr! Freaky...

Thank you Lloyd for your support, but truly, it's okay, I'm a survivor, always have been, after all my original heritage is Welsh/Irish, LOL.

Well I went to the appt., but I saw how I was manipulated by the bankster lady. Although she understood what my aim was, she suggested I see a Tax Accountant AND put some more money into a tax free savings account. So I felt kind of, brushed off to say the least. I called someone I know through the net and he has advised me to simply pick up the phone and ask for a Certified Cheque of all of my holdings (so funny, it actually sounds like I'm a mover/shaker or something) and have it ready for pick up.

Well, it looks like Greece is going to implode on itself with this new referendum which will stop the bail-out. Levi is right, go Levi!!

Hard times

Sorry to hear how bad things are for you, Tiktok.

Things are changing is the only thing I can say to you. You have been caught somewhat off guard by the evolution of our economies and it is actually going to get worse as I guess we all know. But take heart in the fact that people like us will stick together. Find the nearest person you know from this board.

Form an economic and support partnership with them. Know how you are going to find them when it all hits the fan.

We are good loving people here on this board and will not let others suffer who are trying to keep their heads above water during these tough time. I know of two people from this board who I can help and rely on if and when times go bad. Make sure that it's not just you.

Things will get better when the sanity comes back and then we will all be better off, but we have to stick together and support each other while the world goes through this transformation.

To a certain extent I'm already going through that transformation but there is plenty to come yet...
