Orange Lights at New Year

by Lt ER
(London)

Hi All,

While watching people down my street celebrate New Year I saw lots of flying orange lights and I know for certain they were not aeroplanes or helicopters. Esme did you see anything flying over London? I am in E17 and they seemed to be on a similar flight path as to the Chinooks I sometimes see. Some seemed to be flying in formation and quite a fast speed and then seemed to disappear. The bulk of them appeared to be coming from a south easterly direction.

Any body else seen them.

Lt ER

Note From Levi-

Eight flew over my home xmas eve.
Thought they were Chinese Lanterns at first but they were to orange, did not flicker and besides, it was far to cold for a Chinese Lantern to get air bourne. They also stayed in sequence.

Later one turned up over Inverness airport. Doubtful a Lantern could make it that far especially with our weather conditions over xmas.

I will be telling you all once more...

Watch The Skies this year.

My flying orange lights
by: lt

The sky was:

Plane, helicopter, chinook, microlight, cat on broom-stick, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang free. However there were a fair few fireworks going off and it was snowing.

It was just after midnight on 1st Jan 2010 AD.

The curtains in my living room only go half way up the three windows, so at night I can see what there is to see of the sky, moon and stars above the roof tops of the terraces down my street.

I like to watch the planes and I am quite used to seeing what plane lights look like in the dark and what size the lights are at a particular height. There are several flight paths in my area for commercial, private and military use.

I also like to watch fireworks. From my window I watched as the neighbours opposite, two Eastern European families, were laughing and drinking, and let off four huge fireworks outside their house.

The fireworks had just finished and I noticed a light in the sky. The colour was a little different than usual. I thought it was a plane and watched as it flew in my direction. It did not take me long to realise this was something different. There were no flashing red, green or white lights that I normally see.

I thought the plane-lights were in Fancy Dress if that is at all possible. I even googled to see if anything special had been done to the planes as they flew into London. As I was jumping up and down from the computer to the light, it got bigger and closer. This light was a solid circle of colour and it was not on any of the usual flight paths.

For the next 15 minutes my flat mate and I darted from the living room to the back bedroom to outside in the snow watching these orange lights flying overhead in complete silence. I tried to take some video and photo?s of them but they did not come out.

Now it seems like a bit of a dream, but I am glad that others have seen them as well.

Web Guy:

Levi best described these as Plasma Orbs. They did look a bit different than lights, lights if you know what I mean. They are the same sort of orbs that are described as seen around crop circles.

Yeah I've heard the microlite towing lights behind it story. If commercial aircraft were grounded because of snowed up runways etc, a micro would have no chance. (I have flown them)

There must have been a lot of secret snow clear runways and loads of microlites dotted all over Great Britain involved in this prank. Xmas as well as New Year. Some must have taken off from a boat as well because my sighting came in from the sea over the West Coast of Scotland.

These people who give these frightened explanations are neither familiar with the tough Atlantic West Coast weather conditions or Microlites. Ridiculous excuses from frightened rabbits who should do their homework before embarrassing themselves with weak and pathetic suggestions.

We should question their sanity.

Orange Lights at New Year
by: Danz

Hi all,

Saw loads of these orange lights on New Years in Nottingham, was about 5 mins after midnight and I went outside to watch the fireworks. I was so shocked, there was about 4 when I went out, moving very fast.

I shouted to some friends to come out, then loads starting appearing, it was amazing and I have never seen anything like this before, ever. One appeared over our house and was quiet low, I was stunned while watching it, did try to video it but when we checked it it had not recorded.

I would say we watched about 20 to 30 of these go over, all in different positions, some in lines, some seemed to be in formation. They were moving very fast and yet no wind, some of those present said Chinese lanterns, and said that it was probably a lot windier higher up, but surely the candles on these lanterns would blow out?

Also, what was weird was earlier in the day I had mentioned to someone that we should check for UFOs at midnight as they could appear!!!

Comment About Video
by: TheGrimReaper

Hi All
No is the answer Lt ER, I have no idea who
posted this video on YouTube, sry, I live
up in North Humberside anyway and like I
first blogged we only saw one light that
looked more like a moving bright STAR!, it
was almost directly above and moved rather
quickly AND in perfectly straight line. From
where we were standing! it was moving away
from the Plough (the big dipper) and towards
the full moon when it dimmed and then vanished.

Regarding the video tho, after watching it
several times with lots of rewinds it does
seem to look like(at the beginning) the orb on
the left is the relection on a window of the
first orb on the right (If that makes any
sence!), so, a big appology from me on that one. DOOH!

Where to buy Chinese Lanterns
by: Lt ER

Hi WG,

Chinese Lanterns can be bought online. There are many shops to choose from. Chinese New Year is coming up on February 14th. ...

Essex
by: Lt ER

Hi Grim,

thanks for posting the vid. Did you shoot it yourself? I tried both from my bedroom window and outside. I thought my camera was recording but it wasn't on properly. Not that I thought there was much on there, but it was an awesome sight.

As Essex and my area is on a flight path, it would not be unusual to hear plane noise.

Whatever these flying objects were I don't think they were Chinese Lanterns. They were bigger than any light emitted from a plane even coming into land.

I read somewhere they were sent to help and save us from the Ashtar Command (Light workers).

Anybody else come across the Ashtar Command?

Regards
Lt ER

Web Guy:

I do believe that Levi has personal video footage of the orange orbs. Knowing him he will release when the hullabaloo has died down.

But these appeared on christmas eve in the Highands so it's interesting that these appeared on new years eve down south.

These Chinese lanterns are something else. Please can anybody tell me to purchase them.

LT:

I know you heard backgroung jets or planes in video. Bit here in the highlands we hear silence so helis, jets or otherwise we would have heard them but no sound came from these orbs. Five of us saw them. Three were fishermen who would not go out that night and previous nights because of weather.

The orbs came from the Atlantic in a NE direction.

These fishermen see things that can be put down to logic but not this time.

I saw them as well. We all did.

Keep on denying but what you see is what you see...

"and there shall be strange signs in the sky..."
by: ChrisH(UK)

I didnt see these in SW England; in fact I didnt see much at all, bar a brief glimpse (around 7.30pm) of the slightly eclipsed full moon through loads of cumulus cloud.....however, having watched Grim's video, I would agree that these are not Chinese lanterns. They are moving in a manner that, intuitively, doesnt feel right.....I know that's not very scientific, but the lights appear to be playing catch-up with each other.
I have seen a couple of similar events in my time, though it was many years back.....totally silent lights, with inexplicable movement patterns.
I'm assuming these recent lights had no sound. They were moving very fast; if they had been Chinese lanterns, I'd have thought such a strong wind would have blown them out. Certainly not meteors, they are extremely swift and very difficult to catch on video unless you are well prepared and know where to point your camera.

Chinese Lanterns :)
by: Andrew

I too have seen very similar lights in the sky, but on new years eve 2008/09. Wishing to God it was a UFO sighting.

I live in Western Australia and witnessed two very close-together orange lights, floating (or flying) out over the ocean. No sound heard, so I thought they were chinese lanterns. Seemed to fade out as if the flames were going out?? Right?

Now come to think of it, my sceptic mind aside, I had no idea how far away these lights were, yes, they were very bright, seemed to stay in formation, flew or floated in an arch, and faded out as they were reaching the end of the arch. There is all the evidence also not to be a lantern. Wow, this could have been my first UFO sighting.

I will definately keep an eye out now for more "chinese lanterns" being sent out for whatever reason other than New Years wishes, especially if someone can come up with different coloured flames for their lanterns.

P.S. I am no sceptic, I wish to beleive, and may the veil be removed from our eyes soon.

Belgium too
by: Tom

Hi,

These orange lights you're all talking about ... I saw one too (I'm from Belgium). Couldn't have been an airplane and SHOOT I didn't have my telescope at hand, grrrrrr. Have no idea what it was but it looked quite extraordinary.

First time EVER I saw something like that in my life.

REALLY wondering WHAT that was!

Keep on looking!

Now THAT'S what I'm talkin about!
by: Lloyd

They weren't no Chinese Lanterns, that's for sure!!

Actually, they were flickering, kinda like the afterburners of a jet, but without the flame. Interesting. And I don't believe they were moving in exactly straight lines, either - they appeared to move in gentle curves, very much like I would expect of a high altitude jet.

I also thought I could hear the sound of jets, but maybe that was something else on the vid. Whatever they were, they were NOT Chinese Lanterns. The fact that they moved in different directions means that the wind wasn't responsible, either. Still don't know what they were though...

Lights moving in straight lines
by: TheGrimReaper

Hi Lloyd

realy starting to get raaaaaaled, so
its now time to put an end to this
silly Chinese lantern milarky once
and for all. Please watch this video
and notice at the beginning one light
is moving in one direction whilst the
other two move in the other.

Lights moving in straight lines
by: Lloyd

Hi Grim,

Actually I don't see anything wrong with Chinese Lanterns moving in straight lines. They move with the wind and away from the ground, this is generally a smooth lamina flow phenomenon, so straight lines at an unchanging velocity is completely normal.

Now, if one had stopped, hovered, moved to one side, went up, down, backwards, then I'd say we have something extraordinary!

Nope not a dickie bird or an orange glow.
by: Esme

Hi,

LT ER I didn't see a thing. Surprised you saw in E17 as its hard to see anything in the sky in London.

However I keep hearing birds sing at 1-2am in the morning!

Dear Anonymous
by: TheGrimReaper

Sorry to disappoint,but how do
you explain the brightness and
intensity of this light? also how
do you explain this bright light
moving in a perfectly straight
line? maybe your intelligence is
as bright as a Chinese lantern!
ours isn't.

Web Guy:

Levi edited thru holidays and said eight flew over his place. He is on East coast some 75 miles away yet we saw six coming IN FROM THE SEA on the West Coast Highlands.

If you have not seen the news of the massive snowfall we've had here then make any excuse you want. But let me tell you skeptics something.

If you can make a group of Chinese Lanterns fly in from a stormy Atlantic night in drifting snow, Fly over the treacherous conditions over Torridon Mountains to reach Levi thru blizzards 75 miles away. (No wind where was but to cold for a lantern to rise in the air), stay in perfect flying formation, then carry on to Inverness airport where more people saw, (another 15 miles).

Then please tell me where to buy these magic lanterns. Besides, they were far to bright. Chinese Lanterns also flicker, these were very bright orange spheres and did not flicker.

Als0 Mr anonymous, I will personally give you one thousand pounds if you can repeat this feat.

Levi said he ill double it so why not earn some cash for New Year and show us dumb nuts your theory on how it's done.

Come on man.. don't be shy. We here put our money where our mouth is.

(We are also very familiar with the behaviour of Chinese Lanterns)

My New Years resolution.

I don't mind positive content signing anon. But It riles me when a debunker signs anon.

Please start putting your name if you are so sure about what your talking about and guide us from making the same mistakes. That's what this section is all about... to learn.

Simple rules..

Negative anons who go against the flow I will delete.

Negative comments who go against the flow and use a name.. I will NOT delete.

I have been warned by Levi that this year we will get more debunkers infiltrating the blog and it's my job to stop them and send them elsewhere.

They are ruining and spoiling other forums already.

Everybody is entitled to conflicting opinions and that's fine.. but do not hide behind anonymouse titles if you have nothing to hide.

Bright Orange Star
by: TheGrimReaper

Yes Lt ER
I was at a new years eve party, a very good
one as it happens! when't outside with a friend
for a quick smoke and was looking at the moon
which coincidentally had a big rainbow like
halo around it, don't know the time cos i was
slightly intoxicated but we both saw an orange
light moving across the sky for about 5 to 10
seconds before it faded away (it was more like
a moving bright orange star), only saw the one
tho. It must have been one of them new Russian
missiles again! or it could of been the planet
Venus reflecting off a cabbage patch, maybe
we should ask the government? at least they
always tell us the truth NOT.com

GRIM

Web Guy:

Your right on Grim and the news is gri Grim Grim.
It was definitely Venus reflecting off a cabbage patch. This is rare because it can only happen on a Blue Moon and Blue Moon it was.

The cabbage patch must also be a magic one for this phenomena to happen. Then the cabbages can change into orange orbs so the fairies and elves can fly them and visit their relatives in never land.

So.. looks like wev'e sorted that little mystery Grim. Chinese Lanterns... Please...

Orange lights...
by: Lloyd

Wow, this is freaky! I didn't see any (again) living in the backwater of the Earth down here in Brisbane, but then nothing ever happens here...

I would have loved to be in London again this year. Only ever did Christmas and New Year once in London and it was a hoot. Very cold but also very fun.

No orange lights then, either. :(

Oh, and WG/Levi, I'll certainly be watching the skies...

It will truly be something if we see anything here in ol' Brizzy, though.
